You can test your knowledge of elections and the most amusing democratic mishaps in this pre-election quiz. Every day from 1 March until 22 March, users were able to answer three questions to flex their democratic muscles, and were encouraged to invite their family and friends to join in. This app is in Slovenian.

In the general election on 22 March, you chose the future. Political parties had widely differing manifestos and priorities, so the Izvoli.si voting quiz was designed to help you find the one that aligned closest with your views. It featured 30 of the 130 demands compiled by the Voice of the People (Glas ljudstva) initiative and presented to the political parties standing for election. Parties were able to state their positions by either committing to these demands or declaring their disagreement. This app is in Slovenian.
In cooperation with the Voice of the People initiative.

The March 22 general election determined the makeup of the National Assembly and the country’s direction for the next four years. Knowing that many would be away on election day, we once again prepared a voting guide detailing various ways to cast a ballot. It was intended for everyone who was elsewhere in Slovenia, abroad, or unable to reach their polling station for health or other reasons. We provide these guides because we want as many people as possible to participate in decisions that significantly impact their daily lives. This app is in Slovenian.

Thousands of Slovenes are under surveillance. Are you one of them? We have created an app to help you find out exactly what the Slovene Intelligence and Security Agency knows about you. Try it out and spread the word!

For the referendum on the Voluntary End-of-Life Aid Act, we created a simple map of polling stations for early voting. The map displayed all such polling stations across Slovenia, and voters could click on the nearest one to find out more about it. The map of polling stations for early voting is one of the online tools we use to actively encourage voters to fulfil their civic duty.

OMNIA polling stations, which allow voters to cast their vote outside their home constituency on election Sunday, are organised throughout the country. To encourage participation in the referendum on the Voluntary End-of-Life Aid Act, we created a simple registration guide for this type of voting and a map to help voters find their nearest OMNIA polling station.
29. October 2025
As is our tradition, we prepared a guide on the different voting methods for the referendum on the Voluntary End-of-Life Aid Act, aimed at everyone who couldn't make it to the polling stations on November 23rd. The guide was designed for citizens living abroad, people with disabilities, and those who were in other parts of Slovenia on election day. In short, it was for anyone unable to vote in the standard way. We produce these election guides because we believe in the importance of political participation and actively encourage it.

The online quiz Manipulation is not information helps users identify rhetorical tricks commonly found in media and politics. Every day in October, the site features a high-profile statement, tasking visitors with identifying the manipulative technique being used. Additionally, the website serves as a guide that breaks down eleven of the most common rhetorical tricks, making it a valuable resource for anyone looking to better understand the mechanisms of persuasion and deception.

The installation of the local version of Parlameter in Zagreb was carried out with the Croatian organisation Gong and the support of the Zagreb City Assembly. Citizens now have clear and user-friendly access to information about the workings of city politics and key decisions that affect their lives, without the need to sift through countless documents. We are proud to have launched Parlameter for the twelfth time, working with a growing number of local communities who recognise the importance of openness and transparency.
In cooperation with Gong.

After successfully supporting two rounds of participatory budgeting, we continued our collaboration with the Municipality of Medvode for a third cycle, using the open-source platform Consul. For projects in 2025 and 2026, the municipality will allocate up to 400,000 euros. Once again, residents aged 15 and above will be able to submit their ideas and vote on them. This continues the practice of actively involving the local community in shaping a municipality that reflects their needs.
27. January 2025
Using the open-source platform Consul, we supported the Municipality of Ankaran in implementing participatory budgeting. Residents turning 15 or older in 2025 were invited to propose projects worth a total of 100,000 euros and vote on which ones should be carried out. This way, we strengthen the role of citizens in deciding on their shared future and promote the development of projects grounded in the needs and ideas of the community.
8. January 2025
Using the open-source platform Consul, which enables easy online submission, tracking, and voting on proposals, we supported the Municipality of Celje in implementing participatory budgeting. Citizens were invited to help decide how 250,000 euros from the municipal budget will be spent across eight local areas. Each area will receive 30,000 euros, with an additional 10,000 euros dedicated to youth-led projects by residents aged 15 to 29.

The rapid development of generative AI is making it increasingly difficult to distinguish between reality and fiction. Digital spaces are full of synthetic content that, at best, seeks to capture our attention and, at worst, aims to deceive us. That’s why we developed Razkrinkaj.ai (or Recognise.ai), a tool designed to test your ability to recognise AI-generated content and educate you on the risks of its misuse.
24. October 2024
The development and use of artificial intelligence come with significant risks, so it’s crucial to handle it responsibly and transparently, especially when making decisions that affect people's lives. To address this, we developed the Public Sector AI Registry, the first organised database documenting the use of artificial intelligence systems in the Slovenian public sector. We compiled the data through a combination of research into publicly available sources and requests for public information, and we’re committed to updating the registry regularly.

As usual at DJND, we have once again produced a guide for people who, for various reasons, are unable to participate in European elections and referendums like others. It is aimed at people who live abroad, people with disabilities, those who will be elsewhere in Slovenia on election day, etc. – in short, for everyone who cannot vote in the usual way. We create these election guides because we believe in the importance of political participation and actively promote it.

We have developed the online application izvoli.eu in cooperation with the international network VoteMatch Europe to make it easier to decide in the European Parliament elections. The application contains 30 statements that have been addressed by almost all lists running in the elections. Users can also take a stance on these statements and find out which political option they are closest to in terms of their level of agreement. Similar questionnaires were also answered by parties running on European lists in other Member States, so users can also use these statements to check where they stand in the broader European context.
